Hudson Light is close to completing a major construction project that will help improve reliability to 75% of our customer base.

In the spring of 2018, we started construction on a new 1,600-foot ductbank that runs through three utility holes from our Forest Avenue Substation to five dedicated riser poles.   The existing system was the original and dated back to the early 1970’s.

Five 13.8 kV distribution circuits will be installed in this new ductbank, providing needed redundancy in the event of a cable failure and also to aid in preventative maintenance programs. Over 21,000 feet of cable and 14,500 feet of conduit is required to complete this project.

Hudson Light will also be working with the Hudson DPW to install a new sidewalk on Forest Avenue.  The project is expected to be completed by August 2018.
