Take the Pledge!  Be a part of the Hudson Light and Power Department team committed to replacing at least one light bulb with one that has earned the government's Energy Star® label for excellence and efficiency.

Did you know that if every American home replaced just one light bulb, every year we would save enough energy to light more than 3 million homes, more than $600 million in energy costs, and prevent greenhouse gases equivalent to the emissions of more than 800,000 cars!

The Hudson Light and Power Department has made a commitment to do our part to save energy and help protect the environment. Join us and take the ENERGY STAR® Change a Light Pledge to change at least one light at home to an energy-efficient one, and help us reach our goal of 500!

If we reach our goal, then we will save 141,000 kWh of energy and prevent 204,500 pounds of greenhouse gas emissions. Every light changed is a step in the right direction. It's a small step that's already making a big difference.

When individuals act together as a community, we can make a difference in the fight against global warming.

Here's how you can be part of the pledge:

• Go to the Energy Star Change a Light Change the World homepage and select "Join Us"
• Pledge to change from one to 50  standard light bulbs with an Energy Star® bulbs between now and October of 2008.
• Or, just click on the icon at right, and you will be on you way to doing your part to help save the environment.
