Tax Exemptions

Why pay unnecessary taxes? Every year, we issue notices about exemptions from the State’s tax laws that may apply to you. Following is a short summary of some exemptions:

1. Residential Accounts are automatically exempt. No action is necessary from you.
2. Non Profit Accounts are exempt once they file a one-time ST-2 Exemption Certificate with us.
3. Small Businesses with five or less full-time employees are exempt. By January 1st every year, an ST-13 form must be filed with us.
   
4. Manufacturing, Farming, Radio/Television Broadcasting, Research & Development concerns may be exempt. A one-time ST-12 form must be filed with us.
